What is Palliative Care?
Hospice Dufferin is a charitable organization. We offer programs from diagnosis to end of life for the clients. We offer support programs for caregivers from illness to bereavement.
Our goal is to help our clients and their families to live life fully despite their diagnosis. Our services address the domains of care developed by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association.
Hospice Dufferin was registered in 1988. The delivery of our programs and services is made possible through the support of a small dedicated staff, many volunteers and generous donors. The government provides approximately 60% of our funding.
A Philosophy of care for patients and families facing a life-limiting, starting at diagnosis. It can occur at
any time from diagnosis to end-of-life care.
Dying, caregiving and grieving are three of life's greatest challenges and deserve compassionate, caring support. Our services are available at no cost in client's homes, at the hospital, or in our office.
We help families face illness with strength and dignity!
