Youth Bereavement Counselor (contract until March 31 2020)

 

Would you like to make a difference in the life of child that has lost a loved one?  Are you creative and willing to work on helping bereaved families with children during COVID-19? Are you secure with developing a virtual program and as we open up doing in-person visits?   

This position is a part-time contract (7.5 hours per week). 

 

About Hospice Dufferin

Hospice Dufferin serves the County of Dufferin including Orangeville, Shelburne and Dufferin. We provide program and counselling services for individuals and their families living with a life-limiting illness or bereavement.  

Role (A full job description will be shared with candidates selected for an interview)

  • Adapt a program for supporting grieving children, adolescents and their families during covid-19 in Dufferin County

  • Provide counselling to grieving youth virtually and in person

  • Maintains an active role in the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in social work, counseling or related field plus specialized training in grief counseling issues specific to children and adolescents

  • Current Vulnerable Sector Record Check  

  • Car with valid driver’s license

  • Home office with computer and internet access
